This classic trough feeder is made in the USA of 90% post-consumer waste plastics! The farmhouse red color is only matched by the wood grain finish of the recycled plastic frame. Details are not lost anywhere on this fly-through feeder. The side arms have folk-art styled cutouts reminiscent of Adirondack chairs and picket fences. The plastic “V”-shaped roof keeps the 1 ½ lbs of food dry. Like all Woodlink products, the pieces are ruggedly constructed and screwed together – nothing is going to come apart from weather or use stress. This feeder can accommodate larger birds such as cardinals (who will match the paint’s hue!) and blue jays, or beckon smaller diners including chickadees and grosbeaks. Watching painted buntings flitting around this station is like witnessing a rainbow in motion. Feeder can be filled with oranges to lure in orioles, or with bluebird treats to delight your favorite insect eaters.

Woodlink, The Early Years

Woodlink was founded by James Link Nylen in 1988. The company originally operated out of a moderately-sized warehouse in Mount Ayr, Iowa, but would quickly outgrow that space. By 1996 growing to three locations operating in over 100,000 square feet of warehouse space in Mount Ayr and Winterset, Iowa. Just in time for their 15th anniversary, Woodlink moved into corporate offices in Iowa’s capital city of Des Moines.

In 2002 the company signed an agreement with The National Audubon Society honoring their commitment to high-quality manufacturing. Still under family leadership, Dave Nylen took the helm as Woodlink’s CEO in 2005.
